Refunds

Refund policy

BackSpin sells verified attention delivery and campaign access, not guaranteed purchases. Refund handling depends on whether funds are unused, under review, already spent on eligible attention, or flagged for fraud. This page covers advertiser deposits, quick-bid orders, and developer withdrawals.

What you are buying#

Advertisers buy quality-adjusted attention seconds and share of voice, verified human attention during real AI wait states, not impressions, clicks, or guaranteed conversions. In AI CLIs and IDEs many wait states cannot be clicked during generation, so delivery is measured as verified attention, recall, saves, ratings, and post-impression attribution.

Because the unit is verified attention, refunds turn on whether the attention was actually delivered and clean, not on downstream sales outcomes.

Unused campaign balance#

Advertisers may request a refund of unused campaign balance when no fraud review, chargeback, legal hold, or billing dispute is active.

Balances already spent on eligible quality-adjusted attention windows, sponsored discovery delivery, or verified attribution reporting are normally not refundable.

Quick-bid orders (no account)#

Quick bids placed from the homepage with only an email follow the same rule: a pending order that has not been delivered can be cancelled or refunded; attention already delivered and verified is not refundable.

Use the public code on your receipt to review every order tied to your email on the Orders page, or link it to an account from Sync & connect before requesting a refund.

Choosing how you pay#

At checkout you choose your payment method when more than one is enabled: crypto through NOWPayments, or card and PayPal login on a hosted PayPal page (Orders v2). If only one provider is configured, it is used automatically.

Each provider runs in a live or sandbox environment set by its credentials, and the active one is shown in the admin payment-providers panel, so it is never ambiguous which is charging real money. Refund timing and reversibility depend on the method you used, covered below.

Crypto and NOWPayments#

BackSpin uses NOWPayments for crypto deposits. Crypto payments can be irreversible, can include network fees, and can be affected by chain confirmation timing.

If a crypto refund is approved, network fees, currency conversion loss, provider fees, and minimum withdrawal rules may reduce the returned amount.

Card and PayPal (hosted checkout)#

Card and PayPal payments are processed on PayPal's hosted approval page (Orders v2). The order is authorized on approval and captured by BackSpin to collect funds; refund timing then depends on PayPal and the card network.

Processing fees may be non-refundable when the payment provider does not return them to BackSpin.

Developer withdrawals#

Developer payouts are a withdrawal of earned reward credits, not a purchase, so they are not subject to refunds. Every withdrawal is reviewed and approved by an admin before funds are sent; a rejected request simply returns the credits to your available balance.

Withdrawals may carry a platform fee, always itemized before you confirm: a percentage of the amount with an optional minimum floor, plus an optional flat fee, so the fee is max(amount x percentage, minimum) + flat. You see the exact net you will receive on the Withdraw page before requesting. Credits accrued from activity later found to be fraudulent can be voided, and credits already withdrawn on fraudulent activity may be recovered. See the Fraud & prevention policy.

Fraud, abuse, and policy violations#

BackSpin can deny refunds connected to synthetic wait-state farming, malicious campaign destinations, policy evasion, chargeback abuse, stolen payment methods, or attempts to manipulate TrustRank.

When fraud is suspected, BackSpin may pause campaign delivery and hold funds while reviewing logs, ledger entries, campaign material, and payment records.

How to request a refund#

Email [email protected] from your account address with your account email, the campaign or order in question, and the reason for the request. Include the public code from your receipt for quick-bid orders.

We review eligible requests against delivery records and the ledger. Approved refunds are returned through the original payment method where the provider allows it.
